Braintree Awards 9-1-1 Contract to Fallon Ambulance

BRAINTREE AND MILTON, MA, ISSUED AUGUST 19, 2004.Fallon Ambulance Service, a three-generation, family-operated ambulance service with headquarters in Milton, has been awarded a three-year contract to provide 9-1-1 municipal and ambulance services for the town of Braintree.

The 68-year old company originally won the contract in 1998 and has provided services for the past six years. Under the new contract Fallon Ambulance Service will continue to be responsible for all 911 responses for Braintree, providing 24-hour Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedic service. The firm works closely with both the Braintree Police and Fire Departments and receives medical direction from South Shore Hospital and Quincy Medical Center.

"Their service is top notch," said Braintree Selectman Charles Kokoras. "We've had nothing but positive experiences with Fallon. The town of Braintree is confident in their excellent service and there was no question that the contact would be renewed. It is a testament to their professionalism that we have had no complaints from the community."

Peter Racicot, Senior Vice President of Business Development for Fallon Ambulance Service, estimates that service to Braintree requires 2500 transports per year for municipal 911 responses. He said that a dedicated Advanced Life Support (ALS) vehicle is garaged 24-hours per day at the Braintree Police Department and said that additional ambulances are also dispatched as required.

Racicot said, "It is our privilege to continue to work with the people of Braintree. We are committed to providing professional emergency medical service to the communities we serve, and we are pleased to continue our partnership with the Braintree Police and Fire Departments in this important relationship."

Racicot added, "We understand the responsibility of providing superior care and quick response time. We will continue to work hard to be worthy of the confidence and trust that the town has placed in us."

For more than four decades of its 68-year history, Fallon's headquarters have been located at 95 Eliot Street, Milton. Effective in the Fall of 2004, the company will relocate their corporate headquarters to 111 Brook Road, West Quincy; the former home of New England Steel Tank.

"Our current headquarters will still be used by our company for our Milton presence," stated Racicot, adding, "But we have outgrown the space and know that this new facility will help us better serve our communities and clients."

Their new facility will be approximately three times the size they currently occupy. Fallon Ambulance is investing $3 million to refurbish the building, which, when completed, will consist of 43,000 square feet of space on a 70,000 square foot lot.
