Brookline Awards Emergency Medical Services Contract to Fallon Ambulance

Fallon Ambulance Service, a three-generation, family-operated ambulance service with headquarters in Milton, has been awarded a three-year contract to provide municipal and ambulance services for the town of Brookline.

The 65-year old company originally won the contract in 1998 and has provided services for the past three years. Under the new contract Fallon Ambulance Service will continue to be responsible for all emergency medical responses for Brookline, providing 24-hour Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedic service. The firm works closely with both the Brookline Police and Fire Departments.

Brookline is a community of 57,000 residents and Peter Racicot, Senior Vice President of Business Development for Fallon Ambulance Service, estimates that service to Brookline requires 3,000 transports per year for municipal emergency medical responses. Under the provisions of the agreement, Fallon Ambulance Service will receive medical direction from and work with the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, as well as the Brookline Fire and Police Departments. An Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance is garaged 24-hours per day at the townís fire station on Washington Street and additional ambulances are also dispatched as required.

"Fallon has provided emergency medical services for the last three years and the selectmen awarded a contract to remain in effect for another three years based upon the superior service that the town has been receiving from Fallon," said Brookline Town Administrator Richard Kelleher. "Over 90 percent of our calls are responded to in less than six minutes and that is considered a very high standard, one that we are sure that Fallon will be able to maintain."

Racicot said, "It is our privilege to continue to provide this service to Brookline. Our topnotch, professional paramedics and the guidance of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center assure Brookline residents of the best possible emergency medical transportation and care."

Racicot added, "We understand the responsibility of providing superior care and quick response time. We will work hard to be worthy of the confidence and trust that the town has placed in us."
